Biography
Dr. Debasish Kundu was Born in Murshidabad, West Bengal in India in 1986. He has completed his school life from Birbhum Zilla School. Then he started his B.Sc. in Chemistry Honours in Visva-Bharati University in 2005 and completed his B. Sc in 2008 by standing first class first in University. Then he ranked 38 in an all India based examination JAM-2008, conducted by IITs, and started his M. Sc. in IIT-Kharagpur in 2008. He has completed his M. Sc. in 2010 by Securing the 1st position in the University and won the Institute Silver Medal from IIT-Kharagpur. He has obtained his Ph. D. under the guidance of Prof. Brindaban C. Ranu from Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science in 2015 on synthetic organic chemistry by sustainable catalysis. He was selected for the prestigious Elli Lilly Asia Outstanding Thesis Award 2015 for his Ph. D. research. The applications of his research in the multidisciplinary fields of science led his selection as an Indian researcher attendee in 65th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting (dedicated to Physics, Chemistry, Medicine and Biology) through a world wide competition. He has visited several leading institutes in Germany, Switzerland, France and Austria as a young researcher. During this 5 yrs period of his Ph. D. he has guided several national and international Bachelors and Masters students in the training period of their project and published works in several reputed high impact international journals.
He ranked 1st in the Public Service Commission (WBPSC) examination and interview for the post of assistant professor in chemistry in all over West Bengal. He started his professional career in A. B. N. Seal college as Assistant Professor, where he used to deliver lectures on organic chemistry in B. Sc Courses and he also started his independent research there from December, 2015. Currently he is continuing his research and teaching as an Assistant Professor in Chemistry in Government General Degree College, Mangalkote under University of Burdwan.
